The D. T. Suzuki Museum in Kanazawa honours Daisetz Teitaro Suzuki, who introduced Zen Buddhism to the West. Its centrepiece is the Water Mirror Garden — a large, still reflecting pool that the spare concrete "Contemplative Space" pavilion seems to float upon. Designed by Yoshio Taniguchi, it is one of Japan’s most quietly meditative modern spaces.
