Yunomine Onsen

Yunomine Onsen is a hot-spring village on the Kumano pilgrimage route, and its Tsubo-yu — a tiny bath in a hut built over the stream — is the only bath registered as a World Heritage site that visitors can actually get into. It costs ¥800 for adults and ¥400 for under-12s, sold as 30-minute slots between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM, and the ticket also covers one entry to the village bathhouse. There is no rail access: the bus from Kii-Tanabe Station takes about an hour and forty minutes.
