A shrine at the foot of Mount Hodo (497m) in Nagatoro, founded around 110 AD as a place to pray for protection from natural disasters; the current Gongen-zukuri style buildings date to the early Meiji period. A ropeway (about 5 minutes, 832m) climbs to a summit complex with a wintersweet garden, a plum garden, a small animal park, and the shrine's rear sanctuary, with panoramic views over the Chichibu mountains.
