An undeveloped beach on Taketomi Island's east coast, reached via an unpaved track locally nicknamed "Butterfly Road"; the name means "east beach/east field" in the local dialect. Strong currents next to a ferry channel make swimming prohibited, but it's a known star-sand collecting spot and one of the island's few sunrise-facing shores.
Usual hours — confirm with the official site for holidays + seasonal closures.
How to get there
follow unpaved "butterfly road" east from village center, rental bicycle recommended, no shade
